“SEEKING to persuade change in drinking habits could be most effectively achieved through education and awareness of the dangers of excessive sugar in our diets.
One way could be to require manufacturers, distributors, restaurants and other food and beverage (F&B) outlets to highlight products and menu items that have high sugar content.
A broad-based approach is needed to avoid a situation where consumers simply move on to unregulated high-sugar products. Additionally, more needs to be done to ensure lower-income groups have access to healthy, nutritious and affordable food and drinks.” – Tan Chong Huat
