17 October 2019 – Business leaders, economists and diplomats gathered at the RHT ASEAN Summit 2019 held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, to identify opportunities and highlight the ASEAN perspective on the ongoing trade tensions. Running in its fifth year, the Summit was themed “ASEAN, China and the Trade War: Capitalising on Opportunities”. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honours, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Mr Chee Hong Tat and Senior Minister of State for Law and Health, Mr Edwin Tong. They each delivered a keynote speech.
Panellists at the summit discussed the challenges faced by diverse sectors including education, technology and commodities as well as the potential silver linings that businesses can capitalise on amidst an uncertain trade outlook between major trading partners.
