As You Are, Now, RHT Rajan Menon Foundation’s guidebook for the elderly and their caregivers debuted at the Launch of PAP Community Foundation’s Sparkle Care Centre @ Yew Tee
As Singapore’s population rapidly ages, various initiatives have sprung up across our nation targeted at helping the elderly lead more comfortable and fulfilling lives.
RHT Rajan Menon Foundation (Foundation) is proud to do its part for the seniors in our community by publishing a guidebook, As You Are, Now specially for them and their caregivers. The title As You Are, Now, suggests that as the elderly enter their golden years, it is not an experience to worry about or be afraid of; but rather, our seniors should embrace this next step in life as one where they can restfully retire and be satisfied with the unique journeys they have made.
The topics in As You Are, Now include Personal Welfare Management (e.g. lasting power of attorney and advance medical directive), Family Law Issues (e.g. grey divorce and elderly abuse), Financial Wealth Management (e.g. trusts, will creation and property ownership) as well as Entering into Contracts (e.g. caveat emptor, duress and undue influence). The Foundation seeks to educate the elderly on issues they ought to be aware of as they enter their golden years. These topics were carefully curated and written to address the challenges that aging can, and will, bring.
As You Are, Now, made its debut at the Launch of PAP Community Foundation’s (PCF’s) Sparkle Care Centre @ Yew Tee on 25 November 2017, where Minister for National Development and Chairman of PCF Council Management, Lawrence Wong was the Guest-of-Honour. On behalf of the Foundation, Director Ms Kaylee Kwok received a token of appreciation from Mr Wong as one of PCF’s Supporting Partners in reaching out to the elderly.
In particular, the Foundation would like to express its gratitude to the following individuals and organisations who have contributed towards the production of As You Are, Now:
